It’s good feelings all around after the most recent Fireworks Over Lake Russell event for the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber President Phyllis Brooks said that despite the spotty weather, the event turned out great.
“We feel like the fireworks show was a great success for us this year, and we had over 2,000 people in attendance”, said Brooks. “It was a great show, probably one of the best ones we have had. The rain did not dampen anyone’s spirit as lots of people came out and had a good time at the park.”
Planning for the 19th edition of the show hasn’t yet gotten underway, but Brooks said as it stands now, probably not much would be adjusted.
“Everything went well for us, and I don’t think I would change anything”, said Brooks. “We may sell necklaces for the kids next year, and may bring back the karate back, but other than that everything went really well for us.”
Another vital part to the success of the fireworks show was the chamber’s sponsors and volunteers.
Brooks said that without them, none of the festivities would have been possible at all.
The annual Fireworks Over Lake Russell event is a presentation of the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with their participating sponsors.
