It’s Election Day! Across the nation, and here at home voters will head to the polls one last time to make their decision.
After a strong turnout for early voting, Elbert County Probate Judge Susan Sexton is hoping the total turnout in Elbert County sets a new high.
“We are hoping for a good turnout, we have had over 40% for early voting. The highest percentage turnout we have ever had is 74% for a Presidential Election. I would certainly like to do better than that this time”, said Sexton
Unlike early voting, where all votes are made at the Registrar’s Office, voters will have to cast their ballots at their assigned precincts.
“On Election Day, you must go to your polling place or precinct to vote. Early voting has ended, so only those who live in the Elberton precinct will vote at the Government Complex, all others will go to their respective polling spots out in the county”, said Sexton.
Polls are open from 7:00am until 7:00pm. If any voter is unsure of where they have to vote, you can contact the Elbert County Registrar’s Office at (706) 283-2012, and they will help you locate your correct voting precinct.
