Rehoboth Road Set to be Resurfaced in the Near Future

October 30, 2013

A fresh resurfacing of Rehoboth Road near Bowman will be happening in the near future.

According to Bowman City Councilman Ben Rice, initially the county was advertising the resurfacing of the road up to the Bowman City limits.

Rice said it didn’t seem right that the resurfacing stop at the city limits.

“As far as I am concerned, if it’s a county road on one end, it’s a county road on the other end”, said Rice. “Our county commissioner agreed with me on the issue of the road being paved all the way. I talked with Commission Chair Tommy Lyon, and the issue has pretty much been settled.”

After that conversation, it was decided that the county would resurface the road into the city limits.

The only stipulation requested on the county’s end, was that the City of Bowman given written permission to allow the county to resurface into Bowman.

A motion to grant the county that permission was passed with a unanimous 4-0 vote, with Councilwoman Pauline Siegler not in attendance during the council’s Monday meeting due to recovering from a medial procedure.
