The Keep Elbert County Beautiful chapter of the Keep America Beautiful organization holds their first official function tomorrow morning.

The event is a recycling “happy hour”, which will help county residents dispose of items that are usually difficult to recycle.

Elbert County Administrator Bob Thomas goes into detail about what items will be accepted.

“Batteries, electronics, automobile tires (limit four), and paint”, said Thomas. “These are all items that are really hard to get rid of. We hope the community comes out and participates, because these items are ones that are not easy to get rid of.”

Those who plan on dropping off tires will need to have a valid Georgia Driver License, and will have to pay a required two dollar fee per tire.

This event is open to all Elbert County residents, and will take place Saturday, from 8:00am until 12:00pm at the Elberton Recycling Center located off of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
