Representative Doug Collins Named Vice Chair on House Sub Committee

Representative Doug Collins (R-GA) has been named as the Vice Chair on the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) appointed Collins to the Vice Chair position, highlighting his military commitment and time deployed in Iraq as a member of the United States Air Force Reserves.

Collins released a statement after learning of his new role on the subcommittee.

“For six very long months of my life, I lived on a cot with my fellow airmen, studied the cultural and religious aspects of this region, and called Balad, Iraq my home”, Collins said. “This region is vital to the future advancement of American foreign policy, and I am looking forward to contributing whatever I can from my personal insight to promote a better and more secure well being for America in our international community.”
