Resurfacing work on State Route 174 in Franklin County is set to begin on Monday, April 22nd if weather allows.
The work will take place along the stretch from US29/SR 8 to State Route 51.
A flagger and pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone daily, and motorists should expect delays when traveling through the area.
In a press release, the Georgia Department of Transportation says that the project will begin with removing damaged sections of asphalt and patching them.
Once everything is patched, the resurfacing work will begin.
Work will occur on weekdays from 8:30am until 4:00pm. No work is scheduled for the weekends.
The nearly 4.6 mile stretch of work was contracted to C.W. Matthews Construction out of Marietta, Georgia for a total cost of nearly $700,000.
The project completion date is set for August 31st, 2013.
