A special recognition was presented to Sandy Adams last night at the Elbert County Board of Education regular meeting. Mrs. Adams was recommended to the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) by Georgia State Representative Tom McCall.
The agency will help people with disabilities find ways to spend their time after they graduate High School, as well as becoming employed and learning to live independently.
Mrs. Adams is one of nine other members of the GVRA Board, which is a stand alone agency that will be reporting directly to Georgia State Governor Nathan Deal, and is also in charge of establishing policy and funding.
This Agency was formed by the passing of House Bill 1146 on July first.
