Five people are facing a linty of drug related charges after a search warrant was executed late last week.
According to Investigator Lt. Terry Reese, the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a home on Nickville road late Thursday afternoon.
Reese says that numerous drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized during the search.
“During the search a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, scales, and numerous drug related objects were seized from the residence”, said Reese. “A more thorough search of the residence led to the seizure of five firearms. A total of five persons were arrested, and a vehicle was also seized.”
Arrested as a result of the search was 48-year-old Frank Brooks of the Nickville Road residence; 40-year-old Josh Power of Winder, GA; 41-year-old Terry Helton of Bethlehem, GA; 44-year-old Vanessa Fox of Statham, GA; and 22-year-old Stevie Whisnant also from Statham, GA.
Brooks was charged with five counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Marijuana Less than 1oz., and Possession of Trammadol.
Power faces a Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute charge, as well as a charge of Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Helton was charged with Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Both Fox and Whisnant were found to have outstanding warrants out of other counties, and Whisnant was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
All were transported to the Elbert County Detention Center after their arrests, where only Brooks, Helton, and Whisnant remain in custody.
Bond for Brooks has been set at $40,000; bond for Helton is $15,000; and a bond amount for Whisnant has yet to be set.
