The 2nd Annual Jack Frost Jump to benefit the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation is set for tomorrow, January 12th.
During last year’s jump, Donna Seymour who is a member of the foundation said they had nearly seventy-five participants. She said they are hoping to double that this year.
“I would love to see our numbers double from last year, though I am a realist and don’t think that is possible, but I would love to see at least a hundred jumpers this year”, said Seymour.
Seymour said that this year there will be a costume contest prior to the jump.
She says that people can still register the day of the event if they want to participate.
“We will be taking registration on that day; the only problem with waiting that long is that you are not guaranteed a t-shirt”, said Seymour. “A lot of people want that t-shirt to wear it proudly to say yes this is something I actually did.”
The hope for the foundation is to have each participant raise a minimum of fifty dollars.
Check-in and late registration starts at 10:30am, the costume contest will start at 11:00am, and the plunge itself starts at 11:30am at the beach area at Richard B. Russell State Park.
