Single Vehicle Crash Leads to the Arrest of an Elberton Man on Drug Charges

An Elberton man is facing drug and D.U.I. charges after a traffic accident, which occurred on Saturday.

According to a police report from the Elberton Police Department, an accident occurred that involved just one vehicle, as no other victims were listed on the report.

Further investigation after responding to the crash, led officers to arrest 29-year-old Terrence Eugene Hester of a Harmony Plaza residence in Elberton.

Hester has been charged with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Crossing Guard Line with Drugs, Driving on Wrong Side of Roadway with Accident, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Too Fast for Conditions with Accident, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Driving While Unlicensed.

After his arrest, Hester was transported to the Elbert County Detention Center.

He was later released on bond.
