Today all three major local governmental bodies will be holding meetings or work sessions.
The Elberton City Council, Elbert County Board of Education, and Elbert County Board of Commissioners will all meet at their respective locations at 5:30pm this evening.
At the Elberton City Council’s meeting, the council is expected to go through with the second reading of the Peddler Ordinance, also known as, Ordinance 2177. After the second reading, the council will vote on whether to officially adopt the new ordinance.
The Elbert County Board of Education will hold a work session to discuss items on the agenda for their September 17th regular monthly meeting. Following the work session, the board will hold a called meeting at 6:30pm to discuss the Green Campus Resolution.
Last but not least, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners will hear a presentation during their regular monthly meeting from Richard Dobbs and Sean Reed with ABM Building Solutions to discuss energy savings for the Government Complex and Courthouse.
Once again, all these meetings will begin at 5:30pm at each entities respective location. The Elberton City Council will meet at Elberton City Hall, the Board of Education will hold their work session at the Board of Education building located off of Laurel Drive, and the Elbert County Board of Commissioners will meet in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room at the Elbert County Government Complex.
All these meetings are open for the public to attend.
