South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced prosecutors in the office’s Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) division won guilty pleas and convictions in seven separate cases in four South Carolina counties.

One of those cases was in neighboring Abbeville County, where 39-year-old David Hitchcock of a Moore Street address in Abbeville, pleaded guilty to one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor in front of a judge in late June.

According to a press release, in June 2009, Hitchcock made four phone calls of a sexual nature to a 15-year-old girl, and continued making sexual comments even after being told her age.

Judge Frank Addy in Abbeville County sentenced Hitchcock to ten years suspended to nine months home detention, credit for time served, followed by two years probation.

After sentencing, Hitchcock must now register as a sex offender.
