Spots Still Open for September’s Granite City Cook-Off

August 16, 2013

It’s just under a month away now for the annual Granite City Cook-Off on the downtown square in Elberton.

According to the Assistant Director of Community Affairs for Elberton Tiffany Gibbons, about half of the twenty competition spots have been filled.

She says they are still taking applications for the event, and that the cost to enter the competition is $75, those applications can be picked up in person at Elberton City Hall.

Those interested in just selling food can pay a vendor fee of $50, and any arts and crafts or information vendors will have to pay $25 for a booth.

One addition to the cook off in the past was that ElbertonNET would hold their customer appreciation day during the cook off, and that is the case this year as well.

Gibbons says there are some great prizes to be had for ElbertonNET customers.

“Their going to be giving away some nice prizes; up for grabs will be a HDTV, Kindle Fire HD Tablet, and a handless cordless phone system”, said Gibbons. “All customers can sign up and register to win these prizes, it’s a great thing that they do.”

For competing grillers, a new category of Grand Champion has been added this year, in addition to the three previous categories of Chicken Quarters, Ribs, and Pulled Meat.
