The resurfacing of State Route 368 in Elbert County is expected to start this week, if the weather permits.
Once work begins, it is going to move pretty quickly, as contractor E.R. Snell out of Snellville, Georgia is expecting to finish the entire project in roughly two months.
The project will begin with removing damaged sections of asphalt and patching them.
Once that is complete, resurfacing of State Route 368 will begin.
Both lanes of State Route 368 from State Route 77 to the Georgia/South Carolina state line will be completely resurfaced.
Work will occur weekdays from 8:00am until 7:00pm, and no work is scheduled for the weekends.
The roughly 10.5 mile long resurfacing project was awarded to E.R. Snell at a cost of just over $1.7 million dollars.
Following the completion of the State Route 368 resurfacing, E.R. Snell will move on to the other project in Elbert County, the resurfacing of State Route 172.
