Athens real estate appraiser James Boswell was elected last week to a five-year term as the re-configured 10th Congressional District’s member of the State Transportation Board (STB).

Mr. Boswell will succeed current Board Member Bobby Parham of Milledgeville who has served on the STB since 2009.

Congressional redistricting effective this year resulted in a 10th District that now extends from the Athens area in the north to Johnson County in the south; Henry County to the west; and Lincoln County in the east.

A former member of the Athens City Council, Mr. Boswell is a member of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and the National, Georgia and Athens Area Association of Realtors.

He will take office on the STB in April.
