A domestic dispute takes the life of three people in Hart County.

It happened at Froh’s Restaurant on Rock Springs Road in Hart County.

According to Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland, the restaurant had closed for the night, when the gunman stormed in.

“I got the call about midnight, and I was the closest one, so I got there first. The victim, Jason Forkin, was already on the floor expired when I arrived”, he said.

Cleveland said the shooter, identified as 46-year old Sammy Chumley of Franklin County, came to the restaurant looking for his ex-wife, identified as Laurie Weaver Chumley, who was an employee at the restaurant.

According to the Sheriff, when the owner of Froh’s, Jason Forkin, saw Chumley had a gun, he ran.

Cleveland said other employees who were at the restaurant at the time told investigators that Chumley chased Forkin into an outdoor dining area where he shot and killed him.

He then went back inside.

“Chumley then took his ex-wife at gun point, put her in the car and went to Franklin County, where he did kill her at Muddy Creek Road and then shot himself in the head”, said Cleveland.

Chumley died shortly thereafter.

Cleveland said it’s not clear why Chumley shot Forkin.

The GBI has been called in to assist in the investigation.
