Sunday Police Chase Ends in Arrest

July 2, 2013

A crazy Sunday afternoon for officers with the Elberton Police Department and deputies with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday afternoon, Elberton Police Sergeant Sam Hill tried to initiate a traffic stop inside the city limits on a grey SUV for an expired tag.

The vehicle refused to stop for Hill and the chase was on.

“In the city limits he got up to about 70mph, and once he got onto the Washington Highway he maintained speeds at 60mph”, described Hill. “We went somewhere in the neighborhood of seven miles outside of the city limts.”

Three people were in the vehicle during the chase, and after the pursuit came to a halt, the driver was arrested.

34-year-old Little Reginald Glaze of an Old Eliam Road address was arrested and charged with Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude, Expired or No Drivers License, Failure to Maintain Lane, Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits, and Expired Tag.

Glaze was transported to the Elbert County Detention Center after being arrested.

Bond has been set, but not yet posted as of Monday afternoon.
