Time is Now to Start Registering to Participate in Municipal Elections

September 19, 2013

Municipal elections are coming up for the cities of Bowman and Elberton, and the deadline to be able to vote in either of those elections is quickly approaching.

Residents of Bowman and Elberton, who are interested in voting in this year’s election, need to be registered to vote by October 7th at 5:00pm.

Chief Registrar of Elbert County Charlotte Ward explains how you can register to vote.

“You are welcome to walk in to the registrar’s office, if you want to call us at (706) 283-2012 we will drop a registration card in the mail for you, or you can online to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office and print out a card there”, explained Ward.

Another thing Ward says to keep in mind is if you have moved outside or inside either of the cities’ limits.

“If you have moved inside the city limits of Bowman or Elberton, or if you have moved outside of the city limits you need to contact us so we can send you a registration card so you can change your addresses; as these are both city elections”, said Ward.

Early and advanced absentee in person voting begins on October 14th, at 8:30am, lasting until Friday November 1st at 4:30pm.

Election Day is slated for Tuesday, November 5th for Elberton and Bowman.
