The Elbert County Registrar’s Office is now accepting absentee ballot applications for the 2012 November General Elections.
One of the problems that the office is having is when people come in with outdated information.
“Presidential Election is a very busy time for us, and it is very frustrating when people come in and they have not updated their information”, said Ward. “If anyone is not certain to as where they are registered at, give us a call and we will check your registration for you.”
Chief Registrar for Elbert County Charlotte Ward says that voters need to make sure that they have not been deleted from the state’s active voter base.
“If you have not voted within two general elections, you have been deleted from the Secretary of State’s website voter registration system. Some people will come in to vote, and find out that they have been deleted for four or five years. If there is any concern or questions, just give us a call”, said Ward.
The deadline to register for the November elections is October 9th. Anyone who registers after that date will not be able to vote in this year’s elections.
The Registrar’s Office will begin mailing absentee ballots out on September 21st. Early voting will begin on October 15th.
If anyone has any questions about their voter status they can contact the Elbert County Registrar’s Office at (706) 283-2012, or can visit their location in person at the Elbert County Government Building.
