The summer months in Georgia generally bring unpredictable rain showers and thunderstorms.
A few of those storms can turn severe in the unstable conditions caused by the hot temperatures throughout the day, and in a lot of those severe storms is the possibility of hail.
The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes is offering some tips to remember before, during, and after a hail storm.
When hail is in the forecast, be sure to close your drapes, blinds, or window shades to prevent any potential injury from broken glass blowing indoors.
During a storm, do not try and go outside and protect your property, and also be sure to stay away from skylights, windows, and doors.
Finally after the storm has passed, make sure it is safe outside before evaluating the property damage.
