The 5th Annual TJ and Friends Fall Ride against Cancer took place this past Saturday, October 13th.
The ride began at A&D Cycles here in Elberton, and concluded in Lincolnton, Georgia where an all you can eat chili cook off was taking place.
Gary Purvis, who is with the TJ and Friends Foundation, said he was pleased with the turnout of riders.
“We had a great day and had fair participation”, said Purvis. “We had several conflicts that limited our participation, but all in all, we were very pleased with the turnout.”
According to Purvis, the Foundation raised just over two thousand dollars on the ride alone.
“We don’t have a complete total from the chili cook-off, but there was over $2,100 raided during the ride itself”, said Purvis.
Next up for the TJ and Friends Foundation will be a turkey shoot that will be held the weekend before Thanksgiving. For more information about the Foundation and their mission, you can visit their website at www.tjandfriendsfoundation.com.
