Traffic Stop Leads to the Arrest of Two Elberton Residents on Drug Charges

Another traffic stop, this time during the evening hours on Saturday, results in the arrests of two Elberton residents.

After initiating a traffic stop on 32-year-old Racheal Evans’ vehicle, a search by deputies found a large quantity of Marijuana inside of the vehicle.

Also in the vehicle was 25-year-old Derrell Bowman.

Both were arrested after the search and transported to the Elbert County Detention Center.

Bowman was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Felony Possession of Marijuana, and a misdemeanor count of Obstruction of an Officer.

Evans faces only a misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana charge and a Brake Light Violation.

Bowman remains in custody at the Elbert County Detention Center, meanwhile Evans was released out on bond.
