Two Arrested on Drug Charges at Checkpoint

Two individuals were arrested Friday evening during a license checkpoint at the intersection of Highway 368 and Harmony Road.

In a press release from the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, deputies observed a small sedan approaching from the eastbound lane. As the vehicle arrived, it traveled across the centerline before stopping at the checkpoint.

Deputies made contact with the driver, and suspected that the driver was under the influence of illegal substances. Upon further investigation, numerous bags of marijuana were located in the vehicle along with scales and other packaging materials, along with evidence of distribution.

Arrested were 25 year old Aaron James Miller and 17 year old Eva Lynn Cabrera, both of Stockbridge, Georgia.

Miller was charged with Poss. of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Poss. of Tools for Commission of a Crime, DUI-Drugs, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Failure to Report Address Change.

Cabrera was charged with Poss. of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Poss. of Tools for Commission of a Crime.
