Two Arrested on Meth and Marijuana Charges After Weekend Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop over the weekend in the city of Elberton lands two Elbert County men behind bars on drug related charges.

According to a press release from the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, a traffic stop was conducted in the late evening hours on Saturday.

A search of the vehicle that was stopped, driven by 23-year-old Brannon Childs of a Fred Prince Drive address in Elberton, resulted in the finding of an undisclosed amount of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Childs was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Related Object, and Failure to Obey Stop Sign.

The vehicle’s passenger, identified as 23-year-old Dennis Alexander Tiller of a Hartwell Highway residence, was also arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Related Object.

Both were transported to the Elbert County Detention Center after their arrests.
