Two Facing Drug Charges After MLK Day Traffic Stop

An early morning traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Day has two people facing drug charges.

A traffic stop was conducted off of Locklin Street in the old school parking lot.

Further investigation during the stop led to the arrest of two people, 27-year-old Tyler Craig Reid of Calhoun Falls, SC and 23-year-old Santeka Lashae Burton of a Pulliam Street address in Elberton.

Reid is charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, and Failure to Signal Lane Change or Turn.

Burton has been charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects.

Both individuals were transported to the Elbert County Detention Center following their arrests, where they were later released on bond.
