With a twirl and a catch, the University of Georgia Majorettes have done it again. In July the team became the 2012 Collegiate Halftime Show Twirl National Champions and the 2012 Collegiate National Halftime Champions at America’s Youth on Parade USA and World Twirling Championships in South Bend, Indiana.
The Coach of the UGA Majorettes, Ashley Clark, said that it was great to see all her girls hard work rewarded with the wins.
“It’s a great opportunity for the ladies on the UGA majorette line.” said Clark. “It is real nice as far as being on the coaching side of it to watch all of the girls go out there and perform to the best of their abilities, and actually get rewarded for being one of the best college majorette lines.”
Clark said now that the national competitions are out of the way, her team can begin to focus on the upcoming University of Georgia Football Season.
“Well we are getting ready for our first game which is next week. The girls are very excited because this is the type of stuff that they love to do. We are getting revved up for the new pregame show and halftime show that the Redcoat Marching Band has planned for this year.” said Clark.
The UGA Majorettes will perform with the Redcoat Marching Band at the Bulldogs first home football game of the year at Sanford Stadium against Buffalo, on September 1, 2012.
