Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now the focus for the Bowman Special Events Committee has zeroed in on one of Elbert County’s three different Christmas parades.
The city of Bowman will hold their annual Christmas parade on Saturday December 7th, and will also be holding their 3rd edition of the Bowman Christmas Bazaar on the same day
Bowman Special Events Coordinator Pete Gibbons says it’s going to be a fun filled event.
“We’ll have arts and crafts vendors, holiday gifts, holiday décor, and things of that nature”, explained Gibbons. “We’ll have live music, cake walks, and lot of other things for the family to enjoy.”
The Christmas Bazaar, in its respective third year, Gibbons says was added to create a more festive atmosphere for the annual Christmas parade.
“Its something that adds to the atmosphere, we wanted to make it a festival”, said Gibbons. “We wanted to make it an event where families could come spend the day in town.”
He says the Bowman Special Events committee is still accepting vendor applications and parade entries, and talks about what kind of vendor spaces they are looking to fill this year.
“We try to stick with arts and crafts or anything that has a holiday theme to it. Space is limited and we plan on filling up pretty fast, as this event is not as big as the fall festival or what not”, said Gibbons.
The Bazaar begins at 10:00am on December 7th and will last until 4:00pm that afternoon, the Christmas Parade will be held at 2:00pm on the same day.
