Washington-Wilkes Labor Day Celebration Quickly Approaching

August 30, 2013

After a rainy Fourth of July caused the annual Washington-Wilkes Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks to be cancelled, the make up date for the event is quickly approaching.

On September 2nd, better known as Labor Day, the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce will hold the fireworks show that was cancelled.

Vendors are expected on the Washington Square, and the band The Remedy will provide live music beginning at 5:00pm that evening.

According to Erin Pollock, the event will also feature activities for kids including a spider jump and a slide.

Fireworks are expected to go off around 8:30pm-8:45pm.
